The Memory Care Box™ was "born" in senior living and Memory Care communities in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey through the solo piano music of  Dave Cornwall. 

Dementia and Alzheimer's are neurological “mysteries” in the various ways that people are afflicted.  "First in and last out" with respect to memory often applies.  Cognitive abilities, emotional state, and functional abilities can vary dramatically from person to person and certainly, from one time period to the next.  No disease has the ability to wreak havoc in lives, relationships, and families like dementia but, if you're here, you probably know this already.

When people with dementia can't remember "today, " i.e. where they live, who surrounds them, etc., they can often remember details and context from earlier in life.  While many of these memories serve just to confuse and provide no comfort, it turns out that the MUSIC from those early years is often remembered, and, can provide quite a bit of comfort and, warm memories from..."the good old days."
