God's Words In Song . . . Worth the Read!
We should never forget that the melodies of the great hymns of the church are in fact the words and truths of the Bible itself. Facts, concepts, and promises that are so important for us to know that God himself had these committed to stone tablets, paper, and now the vastness of even the digital space...so that we would "know." The original words are certainly His, but also, the music and the verses of His songs are His as well! Both the wonderful melodies, and also the verses, are meant to speak to each of us.
Sometimes, when words are sung, or just listened to, something important can be blurred or even missed. If you like, have a look at the actual verses of the great hymns. Truly, beautiful depictions of what we are to know and, take with us, in our Christian walk and struggles.
