Linus, Lucy, and Me
"This album almost got named, "Lights, Please!" At the time those two words were said, wow, they really said it all when it came to Christmas. No deep long explanations. Nothing complicated or hard to understand. Nothing couched, sanitized, or slanted...just the plain simple truth about what Christmas is and, what it's all about for probably billions of people on every continent around the world.
But, to be really honest, as we joyfully celebrate Christmas each and every year, for more than a few of us, the celebration involves both "the meaning of the season," that is the birth of the baby Jesus, and, and this can vary by age, lots and lots of excitement about celebrations, dinners, parties, presents, and the thrill of seeing what old "St. Nick" left for all the good little boys and girls under the family Christmas tree.
As you may have noticed, my earlier albums celebrating Christmas and the holiday season did not combine these two "dueling" aspects of Christmas. Linus, Lucy and Me, I hope, nicely brings them both together where they belong. With both some new material, and some also released earlier, this album is really meant to be "what Christmas is all about." My hope? My hope is that each person and family who decide to bring this album into their homes also bring it into their hearts and their own Christmas family tradition."
A Merry, Merry Christmas to All!
